Is It Cheating If You Take All Three?
We usually use this journal to talk about 48-hour fermentation, Italian flour sourcing, and the science of the perfect crust. But after a year of watching thousands of our signature green boxes hit the tables, we’ve come to a different kind of conclusion.
We need to talk about commitment issues.
It has been exactly one year since we introduced the Tasting Menu (originally our "Mini Pizza" concept). In that time, we’ve watched the same struggle play out at tables every single night.
You sit down. You scan the menu. You flirt with the Tartufata. You make eyes at the Diavola. But then the anxiety sets in... what if you choose the wrong one? What if you commit to the spicy pepperoni, but spend the whole night wishing you had gone home with the creamy pesto?
Dining out shouldn't feel like a marriage proposal. You shouldn't have to lock yourself into "The One" for the next 45 minutes.
Monogamy is for relationships. Not for pizza.
At Crust, we decided to break the rules. We believe you should be allowed to explore. You should be allowed to change your mind.
That is why the Tasting Menu has become our defining order of 2025.
Three distinct pizzas. Three different personalities. Zero guilt. It’s the culinary equivalent of an "open relationship"—you get the thrill of the new, the comfort of the classic, and the excitement of the wild card, all in one sitting.
It’s not indecision; it’s strategy. And the best part? You don’t have to hide it.
The "Open Relationship" Goes Mainstream
We aren't the only ones embracing this new way of eating.
We even spotted those familiar green boxes making a cameo in a recent Vlogmas episode (the ultimate test of holiday survival). It was cool to see that even amidst the chaos of daily vlogging, the lesson we learned this year holds up: good food is the only thing that stops the talking and starts the sharing.
Whether you are filming for millions of subscribers or just catching up with friends on a Tuesday, the logic remains the same: Why settle for one slice of life when you can have the whole pie chart?
(If you want to see the "Cheating" strategy in action, skip to 08:42 in the video below to see how the pros handle a Crust spread.)
The Verdict? Next time you visit us, don’t feel bad about wanting it all. Go ahead. Take all three. We won’t tell.
